Robots.txt and archive sitemap
I'm a bit confused with how robots.txt and the archive sitemap works.
When I installed that mod, it seemed OK, but it really isn't. Since then, people enter in my threads and the visit counter doesn't go up (I don't know where the relation can be) and I have the sensation that it is know indexing only the archive pages, which are not very presentful to visitors. This worry I have comes because I have 300 daily visitors for ONE keyword and all of them have to deal with the archive thread instead of the real one. Can I solve that? What if I turn the archive not to be "friendly"? And with the robots.txt, I placed it in the root of the forum file and it doesn't seem to work because I disallowed member.php, for instance, and the google spider continues indexing members! I don't understand how this is working, but it's driving me mad. Too, the visit counts on each thread stops at 1 and only increases if someone posts in that thread. Then if I have 1 reply, I'll have 2 page views...not logic. Can somebody please tell me where the error can be please? |
