Thread notes are not visible anywhere?

Hi,

some of my moderators complain about the fact that they can`t mark a new thread as "approved". At the moment they have no possibility to see if a thread has already been checked by another mod. My first idea was to use the thread notes field but the information added in this field does not appear in the thread view.

So my question is: is there any modification/hack that displays the information from the notes field in the thread view? Or are you aware of ways for moderators to mark a thread as OK?

PS: I don`t want to switch my forums to be moderated in general as that would cause too many user requests like "why does my posting not appear...".
