Forum Display Options
Hi.
My forum is using vB 3.6.4 Kartel Style. I was wondering if there's a mod which will always keep the newer threads at the beginning of a section such that older threads won't bump over newer threads even if a post is made to that older thread Also, make this an available option for each member as in the current options we have for [UserCP / Edit Options / Thread Display Options / Thread Display Mode] of: 1) Linear Mode (Oldest First) - In this mode, posts are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously. 2) Linear Mode (Newest First) - This is the same as the above mode, except that posts are ordered in an opposite way (newest first). 3) Threaded Mode - In this mode, a tree is shown along with every post. This tree allows you to see the relationship each post has to others, in terms of who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time. 4) Hybrid Mode - This mode is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed like in the threaded mode, but multiple posts are displayed simultaneously like in the linear modes. I have members requesting this because new threads can quickly go back a few pages with the kind of traffic we receive. As i see it, the only way to do what i'm requesting is by using the Display Options which appear at the bottom of each section [see pic below]. However, even if it is set to Sorted by "Thread Start Time", it gets reverted back to default of "Last Post Time" once a member leaves that section and then returns to it. Any thoughts? btw, i also looked in the AdminCP / vBulletin Options but couldn't find anything. Tnx for reading. |
