Custom Forum Titles

Hi!

Is it already possible to configure a title per forum? Or do you mean a title for all forums together ?

I want to be able to provide forum 1 with title "XXX Forum - The forum for vBulletin experts" and forum 2 with the title "YYY Forum - The forum for vBSEO experts" etc.

Herby some code to be able to do it within 10 minutes:

1. Create a new product
2. Add a plugin for your product on forumadmin_edit_form
3. Add the folowing code:
   • PHP Code:

     print_input_row($vbphrase['custom_forum_title'], 'forum[custom_forum_title]', $forum['custom_forum_title'])print_input_row($vbphrase['custom_post_extension_title'], 'forum[custom_post_extension_title]', $forum['custom_post_extension_title']); 

4. Add a plugin for your product on global_start
   • Have this plugin check if a custom title is available, if so put the custom title in $custom_title otherwise set $custom_title to 0. Also check if a custom post title extension is available, if so put it in $custom_post_extension otherwise set $custom_post_extension to 0.
5. Edit your forum display template and replace the title content with
   PHP Code:

   <if condition="$custom_forum_title">$custom_forum_title</if><else>...ORIGINAL TITLE CONTENT</else> (not sure if the else is used right, ofcourse it's usable but I'm not sure how to use it) 

6. Edit the post display template and replace the title content with
   PHP Code:

   <if condition="$custom_post_extension">$custom_post_extension</if><else>...ORIGINAL TITLE CONTENT</else> (not sure if the else is used right, ofcourse it's usable but I'm not sure how to use it) 

7. Write a install script wich will add the folowing fields to the PREFIXforum table:
   1. custom_forum_title
   2. custom_post_extension_title

Done.

Why is this usable? Because your site will be indexed a lot better in the search engines if you use good non standard titles.

Why don't I do it? Because I bought vBSEO and it has a feature to do the same. (edit, it might has this feature so I might write the mod myself today)
