vB cookie.

How can I utilize the vB cookie so that I can display "welcome" or "register" on a static web page which is not integrated with the forum? I have the forum cooie set as / so it affects the whole domain.

I have a static section of the website, but depending on whether someone is logged into the forum or not, I'd like to display a different message.
