External.php how do I use it?

I used to use the fps external, and heard that as of 3.6.0 or whatever vbulletin has the external.php option.

What I want to do is display about 6 links on my front index.php page of a different script.

Ive been searching and tried all sorts of options with javascript, etc.

Finally I went to vbulletin.com and checked out their manual but the javascript example that they give doesn't have links, so no one can click on anything to go to that post which is kinda lame. Im sure I'm just missing an option.

What code do I need to put in my external script's index.php file in order to display 6 of the most recent discussions from 6 forums I specify? Thanks
