Hybrud Forum/Thread Display

Well, since the company i work for designs programs, we often have a few responses to specific threads. We are actually looking for a way to make a hybrid from/thread display mode.

In this one you can expand the specific posts in the thread in the same window that you see the rest of the forum. This is pretty close to what i want. However there are a few requests i would like.

Either (A being a preference);
A. Make it so that users can select in which way the the forumdisplay behaves with something simialler to the thread display options. (With a button or arrow of to the side to view it in the thread display mode) This option would have a default setting for each forum.
B. Make it so that a specific forum displays in this context.
