ok, I'm not totally sure what you have got going on there in your template as you have the entire code twice.

Just to confirm, instead of it being every post alt2 on the left and alt1 on the right, you want the first post to be alt1 and the next to be alt2?

If you want me to check more graphically, I can go and get some screenshots from a couple of styles that I'm working on at the moment to show you what I have so far and how it works.
