Adsense and paid subscriptions

I have read some other posts on this but cannot seem to grasp this concept. I want to add some ads to my forum (after main thread, somewhere in the middle and at the end) but I want it so Admins and other specified groups can't see the Ads.

I keep seeing !$GLOBALS['FIRSTPOSTID'] a lot but I have no idea what it means. Can anyone explain? Also what is postbit and postbit_legacy. Maybe a pointer to a thread with meaningful variables used in vB would help?

Can someone paste an example of a complete adsense block with the admin and super moderators not being able to see it.

I thought it could be done with a simple IF statement:

If usergroups != 1,2,3 etc... (can you comma seperate user ID's in IF statements)
then show adsense code (or any other ad)
close statement

Am I missing any important variables that are unique to vB.
