How do i make the sub forums display differently on the main page?..

Hi Guys,

I'm sitting here trying to setup my new forum at: http://www.pokershark.com/index.php however i cant get the sub forums to display differently than the main forums..

Ie i want the main forums to display how they are on the main page, but i want the sub forums to be linked much smaller, more like a sub forum than a main forum..

How can i do this?..

AN example is dnforum.com how they have the sub forums listed.. Does anybody know which hack or plugin they are using?..
