Restoring a Backup and have Q's- please help

My site was attacked by a staff member. He Pruned 2 of my major sections on my site. now i have a back up that is 2 days old from the time this happened.

the only issue i have is that the sections he pruned and deleted had attatchement. ( ringtones and wallpapers)

my Co admin a while back transfered the atatchements into a file system. if i restore my DB will the stuff that was deleted be there? im not sure how it works exactly so ide like some info. thanks
