Default Auto Register New User 'What If'[from 'how to' thread]

If you want to add a new user to the vBulletin database, you can use Class vB_Datamanager_User.
This Calss does make sure that everything is OK, it will also take care of the default registration options.

This How-To is (C) 2005 by KirbyDE and you are not allowed to redistribute it in any way without my explicit consent.
Read thru this thread and have a 'what if' - I like the concept of 'auto registration' of a new user but WHAT IF I wanted to do a 'auto log in' of a predefined 'user id' instead??(I would think it'd be simpler and suit my needs better) The 'defining' criteria would be a BANNED IP.

Picture thousands of different users, using thousands of different computer sets, some 'registered' some not, ALL LOGGING FROM THE SAME IP(which is company based). I want them all to be able to view & post(no 'edits') using let's say a 'workguest' Id but NO LOGGING IN ALLOWED. Thus 'auto login'. Currently, 'IP Banning' allows nothing one can do and the 'unregistered/not logged' category would allow login from work set which I do not want either.

Looking for a custom mod / something in between - any help / suggestions plz!! When vbulletin detects a certain 'banned ip' I'd ideally like to 'autologin' them in under ONE Id with the ability to control 'permissions' as usual . . .

Perhaps I am missing something here?? Having asked a previous q related to the same subject is there a stock way to control 'permissions' on a general IP ban?? I know when one ban's a 'user id' there is a way to control permissions but when I ban in IP general???
