Introducing vContent

I am currently prepairing a new script for RC 1, this started has a update for Simple vB powered web page modification.


vContent is simple vB powered web page on steroids, it will allow you to make 100% dynamic web pages that intergrate with vBulletin. The best part is you will never have to hack any vBulletin files or vContent files once it is installed.

vContent stores all its info in the vBulletin database but emulates a folder/file ftp like interface for the admin. Each folder has its own set of perrmissions and options (including styles), folders also host the files like forums to threads.

Files contain alot of options like password protechtion, perrmissions, styles, and view counter. pages also store there own html that is passed through vBulletins template engine. Which is a big improvment over the current method where all pages are stored in one template.

By itself the base script dosent sound like much, but I still havent mentioned extentions.

Extentions allow you to plug-in your own php code on any file or folder, there is no end to what you could do with this, personally im developing a portal for vBt using it.

There will also be a extention manager in the admin cp, so you can easyly set extentions up by file.

vContent will hopefully be released a few days after RC 1, hopefully with a few extentions included

note: currently the devs are telling us RC 1 is coming late this month (november)
