Attachments compression?
I'm assuming that when a member of our forum uploads a photo within a post there is no option in the vBulletin system to automatically compress the file to fit within the filesize limitations setup in the Admin panel, correct? For instance if someone had a 1MB image file that they wanted to upload, but the Admin had set the max file size limit to 200kb, then the user would just get an error message that the file is too large, correct?
The reason I am asking is to make sure I'm not missing something first of all. And second to ask if there is a way to integrate a compression function into vBulletin. I use Photopost for our Gallery and it uses ImageMagic to do this. I think it uses GD2 to make the thumbnails as does vBulletin I believe. Last question, for now is there a shareware compression utility that can be recommended to my members to easily make their image files small enough to upload within our file size limits? Many apparently are new to resizing and compressing image files. Thanks for your input! |
