Login without a password or parsed from ASP
I am currently setting up a Knowledge Base or sorts to use for my company's employees. Currently, my company has it's own webiste which is accessible both in-house and outside where everyone can check their emails, get information, etc.
The site is ASP based and protected by verifying the employee's login to what is stored in Active Directory. The knowledge Base I am developing needs to be as trimmed down, streamlined and simple to use as possible (somehow people find a forum based site very confusing). The question I have is: can the login and password sent from the main site address be automatically parsed into VB3 so that the employee does not need to login twice and if so how would I go about that? Or, is there a way to do away with a VB logon password all together and just utilize the employee's ID? This is a closed site, so I am not concerned about outside people attempting to hack into the forum. Thanks much - Kirt |
