Central User Database Across Multiple Forum Installs
I own a few forum sites. I wish there was a mod/bridge that would allow me to install the user data tables in one mysql database and have seperate databases for each site. However, i would like all the sites to be using the same user database. So basically a global registration system.
One add on to the user database that would be nice to accompany this feature would be a source registration column, which would say where the users registered. That way I could send newsletter/email messages to only the users that registered at cetain sites. Most of my sites are of related content, thats why i think it would make sense to have only one registration source so that they could have access to all the sites with one log in. This would solve my problem of seperating content for all the different forums. I might end up creating this mod one day, when I have a few free days, but it would be nice if someone made it, or even better if the vbulletin folks made that feature available. Heck, they wouldn't have to change the pricing/lisencing for a featre like this. Pz! |
