VB3 Welcome Thread Hack

On VB2 there was a hack so that when someone signed up instead of being taken to the thread they were in or the page they were on after sign-up they were taken to create a thread or reply to a thread.

A similar hack for VB3 would be really cool. I have a welcome thread that I like new sign-ups to post in.
