active users in forumdisplay

I've search a couple places for this and never get a real answer and some people say template mod and some say hack.. so basically I'm putting it here I wanted to get the active board users above the active forum users... example:

(Active Users on board: blah, blah2, blah3)
(Users Browsing this Forum: blah, blah2)

I figured putting $activeusers above $onlineusers would work, but obviously not... is there a way to do this?
