Your TOP 10 Most Favorite VB Hacks
We all know the VB.org hacks database is a big place, and searching through the thing takes awhile to find just the right hacks. Even harder is searching through the regular hacks forum, since the hacks database doesn't contain nearly the full amount of hacks on this site. I myself am trying to find more hacks that my users would enjoy, and thus comes your Top 10 Most Favorite Hacks list. So onto the topic, what are your favorite hacks? If you don't have 10 to add, then just go as far up to 10 as you can.
Note: You don't have to add lengthy descriptions as I do. But do try to provide a link to the hack, unless it's a well known hack. ---------------------------------------- For me, and my members, they are the ones we use the most. So here they are: 1. Quick Reply w/thread close by Nakkid & original by FireFly - awesome hack and defiantly the most used by every member of my forum. I couldn't survive without it. 2. Vbhome Lite by Nakkid - allows you to control your website homepage by Admin CP, and also interact with your forum. 3. Nakkid's Blinking Header PMs - crushing the welcomepanel way of displaying PM's only on the forum home, this nify hack allows you and your members to see if you have a new PM and access it from anywhere on the forum. You will only be able to see it from anywhere on the forum if you place the code in the header template, such as in a nav bar. My members probably love this hack more than any other compared to the old method. See an example. 4. Vbquiz by TWTcommish - sweet hack that members have grown a huge interest lately in. Eagerly awaiting Version 2, with possibly a timer on questions, and an interface for users to submit their own quizzes See an example 5. Who registered today by psico - cool and very useful statistical hack that does just as it says. At times my members and I like to know who, if we didn't catch them enter, what members joined today. This hack solves that question. 6. WYSIWYG Editor by eiSecure & Superman53142 - this hack is just pure useful. It gives the default Vbulletin posting editor a facelift with a interface similar to that of Microsoft Word. It doesn't require VBcodes, although you can still use them if you want to. It allows quick one-click button access to allow auto-formating such as bold/etc. It also inserts smilies where your cursor is located. 7. Signature preview in UserCp w/limiters by Kinox - this hack has saved my troubles in insuring all my members to follow image rules in signatures greatly. It allows you to restrict the width and height of a signature to a max dimension, and some other neat restrictions. You can also preview your signature in the UserCp which is always useful. Note: Use my translated TXT of this hack, since the first one was sorta corrupted. 8. Who was online today by Mystics - another great hack that allows you to view if member A or member B was online today, incase you missed them at one point. 9. Search/Sort/Order in Threads by bad_madman - great hack that I so wish was installed on VB.org. Why this wasn't implemented in Vbulletin in the first place, I don't know..but it allows you to search/sort/order posts (as the title says) in a thread. 10. Photogallery by JJR512 - This hack isn't used too much on my forum right now, but that is only because the short amount of members I have. This hack I'm sure will be a great hit soon to come though. Well, that's it! Now show off yours |
