The name of the user changes to the color code, but the actual rank name becomes black, it does not change
Yes, I gathered that was the issue from your initial post, but in order to help, I need to know exactly how you've defined the user rank. User ranks don't by default inherit the username markup. Also, please make sure you are talking about a rank and not a title.
