How to display IM fields at registration

For few days I'v been trying to make this work but I had no luck.

What I want to do is to pull out ICQ field from edit profile page and add it in to registration form.

I'm using vB 3.8.7

I'v tried to pull out the ICQ html code from modifyprofile template and add it to register template but it's not working correctly - field is there but when I enter icq number at registration is not shown in icq box in profile or in contact details tab after registration.

I guess that problem is that IM fields are not registered for register template, or something like that.

Can someone help me with this and tell me how to add IM fields in register template?
