Is it possible to have a Store/Shop on vB5?
I'm familiar with Wordpress & it's great for setting up a general website, but it's not really the best when it comes to Forums (terrible if you ask me) and is pretty good for E-Commerce and recently I've been setting up a website using Zencart & since it's primarily a E-commerce website, I'm not too sure how well it would be as a General website (blog, photos, articles etc) & I do not think it offers a Forum.
I have 3 important aspects of the website that must be met equally with as seamless of an experience for the user as possible. Looks, single login, useability etc. 1) General website with photos, articles, other various content etc. 2) High quality Forum that can be customized with sub categories - (The Forum is a very important aspect of the website so it must be very good, hence me leaning to vBulletin vs. phpBB) 3) Store/E-Commerce section So with vB5 it now seems it can do blogging/general website stuff which is awesome. (although I haven't looked into it beyond it being offered now) But is there any way to have a store/shop as well? This is also a must for the website. Is there a vB5 plugin available that can do this & do it well? If not would I just have to setup a Zencart or Wordpress for the store/shop? (obviously WP can do the blogging/general website as well & perhaps do it better than vB5?) So maybe since Zencart is strictly E-commerce, it might be a better pair-up with vB5? (with just a LOT of additional customizing) |
