I have firebug installed, but it's not effecting the other website that's basically the same, so it can't be that. Also, that shouldn't be causing the issue with the "Moved" thread issue I'm also getting. see post #3.
--------------- Added [DATE]1328526283[/DATE] at [TIME]1328526283[/TIME] --------------- Okay. What we've done was followed Lynne's advice and found that the core problem was caused by a style modification we've done. So we know it's not a third party mod or a corrupt vBulletin file. We made sure of this by following Steve's advice by running a diagnostics check for suspect files. The best solution for now is to keep the vanilla skin in the background and then launch our site with 95% of the things we've customised/added error-free. We'll have to go through a template and style comparison between the new skin and the vanilla skin and make the changes in the vanilla skin as we along. Hopefully, with the checks we make each time we modify the code until we're 100% certain it all works. Then we do a skin change without any hinderance to the user on the front-end. It's a lot of work, but it ensures that we've followed through without any stuff-ups. If anyone's interested, my husband and I will launch our site and post an indepth analysis of how we went about redesigning our site using the existing vBulletin code, the mods we found here + everything else we had to learn about web design in as little as 6 months. For now, thanks for all your help. It means a lot to have a community still strong on making vBulletin a friendlier platform. |
