That's my thought, and as such I've never used reputation. We don't have a lot of active registered members so I'm not sure it would work well, though I'm gong to look into it.

Well yes. But quantity of words is a measure of
actual quantity. Wheras post count actually isn't. I just visited a competing (busier) forum where, no word of a lie, many of the posts in the thread I read were just single smilies. Post count is no indicator of quantity.
