Need "Post New Thread" button on forum home!!!

Is this easy to do? I have a mod for 3.x where a new thread link takes users to a forum selection for quick forum posting. My issue is that all my members are clicking between blog, forum, etc and clicking on "Create new blog" because its the only action button they see. If we had one that said new thread, we might have less people making their first post on the blog.
