'Forum is switched off' message
Hi,
I hope someone can tell me why this is happening. I'm in the process of creating a forum, it's not live yet so has no activity, other than myself playing around with templates, modifications and themes, and a few RSS feeds which are posted automatically. The forum is switched on (registration is disabled and guests cannot view anything, so it makes no difference to switch it off), however it seems that every day when I go to my forum page, the white banner along the top and bottom is showing, saying 'The forums are switched off'. I go my ACP, and the forums are turned on. By turning them off, and then on again, the message disappears. The only thing I can think is that vbulletin is set so that if there are no posts or visits for a certain length of time, the forums switch themselves off automatically, is that the case? Also, my RSS feeds are very temperamental, it appears that they are not posted while I don't visit the forum, but then they start up again when I visit again - is this linked to my other issue? Any help would be appreciated. |
