reverse the ban email addresses coding
Hi all, I originally posted this to try and only allow users with a ".edu" email addy to register in the forums I moderate, as we are an academic forum and want to allow students to register, but only those affiliated with certain member institutions.
After finding out this option is not available, only the option to ban certain email addresses (like yahoo or gmail addresses), i thought about modifying the source code to reverse the ban process as explained below..... any help would be greatly appreciated. Within the Admin CP, there is the option to "ban email addresses" A simple solution to this problem would be to reverse the code for this mechanism so that it doesn't ban, but allows. Therefore, i could put for instance "stanford.edu" in the "ban email addresses" box and instead of banning it, it would ONLY allow "stanford.edu" addresses to register. Is there a way to reverse the code, and if so, what files do I need to edit??? |
