vBulletin as a Wiki

For some time now I have been considering adding a Wiki that integrates with my existing forum. Being the procrastinator that I am I haven't got around to doing it, however for some reason today my get up and go, hasn't got up and gone so I am going to see if I can make a go of this.

Now there are some excellent Wiki applications out there, such as MediaWiki, however I am aware of various issues integration user accounts into MW, then you also have other issues such as having and maintaining consistent site wide style and other things such as vBSEO.

The other problem is that it would seem that the "main" mod for this nuWiki/vbWiki has gone under so it would be a massive risk to try and run that.

So that got me thinking, why not use vBulletin itself as the Wiki?

So lets say my site/forum/wiki is about Cars. I would create a forum called Wiki then under that create a series of sub forums for each manufacturer, then under those a sub forum for each car/year and within that forum users have access to post and edit their own entries (but not others (apart from moderators). This forum would also be ordered alphabetically to make finding information easier. This then means that you get the consistent style, vbSEO, searching etc etc, however what you don't have is a "true" wiki.

So the questions are:

Has anybody successfully integrated a wiki and if so which one and how ?
Where is the fatal flaw in my "forum wiki" idea ?
Any there any real alternatives to nuWiki/vbWiki ?
Should I just write my own, release it as a mod with donations and become an internet bazillionaire?
