I've searched around here on vborg and Google thinking that something like this would have to already exist. I, however, cannot find anything like it or similar.
The description is as follows: How many times have you either bought a new computer, had your current computer "crash and burn", had a virus destroy your operating system, or have been in a situation where you were required to surf the web on a computer that is not your own? All of these situations are quite reasonably expected to happen to everyone at one point or another. Well, the one major problem this presents us is the loss of our carefully saved favorites (bookmarks) which more often than not are gathered over a certain period of time and are impossible to commit to memory, hence the need for favorites to exist at all. The concept of this add-on would eliminate these problems by providing users with the ability to create an "Internet favorites" section from within vBulletin. Along with being able to have their "links" page set as private or public (to share them with others). The system would also have a companion bookmarklet to easily and quickly save web pages to their Internet favorites list associated with their vBulletin powered website account or profile. With this system in place, even if your computer is totally destroyed, you can rest assuredly in the knowledge that all your favorites are safely saved on the remote server which hosts the vBulletin software their account is associated with. Another nice feature would be the ability to either import your current favorites list from IE into the system on the website and/or the ability to export your list from the website which can be seamlessly imported into IE or Firefox, etc.. If this does indeed exist, I would be happy to find out how to acquire it. If it does not exist, I think the actual system would be somewhat simple to create. Unfortunately my programming prowess is not sufficient enough to even know where to begin creating something like this yet. Thanks for reading -Druss |
