Thumbnail grabber for imageshack/photobucket links?

My forum is very image heavy. So much so, I've restricted image posts to 50K max so I can be conservative with my storage space. I want all images posted on the forum server so they last forever. They insist (laziness) on posting links to those free image dumping grounds, rather than posting a 50K image on the forum server, thus leaving the discussion dependent on if some guy decides he no longer is interested and deletes the image.

I've since banned the names of these places, and I'd like to be able to allow them to continue to post links to images hosted on their servers, but I want a thumbnail generated and inserted so its always there on my forum. Anything like this available?
