Change "posted by" user before submitting post by Admin only?
Group,
I do not beleive that this is a feature already included in Vbulletin 3.6.4 for this. Is there a way to allow only the administrator or maybe at most a super moderator to be able to create a post and while in the text editor screen change the posted by user name to what they want it to be before submitting/creating the post? This would be a good feature for copying and pasting content from an old message board or foreign board (phpbb, IPB, Simple Machines, or etc) where you may only want to manually move over a few posts and not the entire contents of the board using an import script. Now I know there are some "Login as User" hacks here (this one in particular comes to mind)https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=login+as+user, but I dont actually want to login as the user in this case, I just want to create a post or reply and show it posted by a specific user as if they actually did post the message. Another thing that makes the above hack not a good candidate is that I have to leave the post and go to their profile to login as them, which is two things that Im not wanting. (logging in as them, and leaving the post to visit their profile.) Again this would just be an Admin or Supermod ability. Does anyone have any suggestions or is anyone willing to code a hack to accomplish this for Vbulletin 3.6.x? Thanks Doug |
