why should we upgrade to 3.6.2 ?

first off, im convinced.... im all for upgrading ..

long story short, im on a board which is slighty messed up and barely functional.
alot of the hacks we have are broken, and non existant for 3.6.2.

the board we are currently on is 3.5.3 and alot of the community members of this board feel like upgrading is a waste....and if we are going to move the board, that we would be better off staying with 3.5.3 and just doing it over again.

I figure if we are going to move we should upgrade.... but i dont make any strong arguments other than "because its cool and we can"

so.... for you pros and those in the knows out there..... i pose this question as it was asked to me "why the hell should we upgrade if we cant have the stuff we have now, instead of just starting over a brand new 3.5.3"
