Clearing out Shoutbox

My concern is, it will get pretty lengthy eventually, so I would like to clear it out periodically. Is there a way to clean out the shoutbox? Like mass delete shouts from a certain date or anything? Any admin features with this or any other way to do it? Or does this by chance already happen after a certain time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is an auto prune CRON job that you can use. You can edit the php file to have the cron job keep x number of days of shouts.
