You could just edit the bbcode_quote template...

This hack paved the way for me to do just that:

I edited accordingly, now it's a lot cleaner and collapsable to boot. I got rid of the thick quote line, and made it so the "quote from: name" is on top and not redundant.

I don't... it looks pretty close to quotes here, except with the edit you posted above... it says "Quote from: Name" outside the box, and inside the box is the quoted text only.

...and clicking the "Quote from: Name" line collapses the quote.

If you just want the regular quoting style, but cleaned up the way you originally asked, this should do the trick. I just whipped this up real quick from the original template, so test it and see if it works for you.

If you want the ability to "collapse" quotes, try this one instead. All credit goes to Hellcat for this code, BTW, I just removed the thick border and edited the attribution text the quotes included.
