I am having a terrible time with MYSQL which I know very little about.

I am trying to add another database/user within MYSQL

whether I use the command line prompt or phpadmin......I get the same error

access denied to root@localhost.

My server is right here with me...it is XP based.

VBulletin works fine...how I got it to work with MYSQL is beyond me.

How do I get access as root.....I seached the net and found examples of how to change the root password etc but when I try them vBulletin doesn't work.

any )lots) of help would be appreciated.

Download MySQLManager from www.mysql.com. It will make creating databases and setup users easier for you on a Windows Environment.
