What is the best way to upgrade VB if you have several mods?
I'm running 3.5.1 and I have several mods like VBookie, Arcade, UCash, etc. How do you guys do it?

Are you trying to upgrade to 3.5.3? If so, I imagine you can just upgrade without having to make little, if any, changes.

well I looked at the upgrade files and it looks like a bunch of files that I have made mods to I would have to overwrite.

Really, there is no best way to upgrade if you have .php file edits and template edits. You just have to pretty much do everything all over again. I always keep EVERY file and/or hack just because of that. The plugins though, you don't have to worry about, it's just the template and .php file edits that get to be a big pain in the.........butt

If the mods you have installed didn't require file edits, then you can just upload all the upgraded vB files overwriting the old ones. You won't have to worry about new files that are from products since they won't touch the orginal vB files.
If you have edited the orignal .php files at all, then you would have to reedit the same file. |
