Can this be done?
I need to add a new database to my website that can sort names, stats, and so on for members, they would log in and edit/enter this info themselves. However the main part of my site is the vBulletin. So is there a way to use their existing vbulletin login/password to also grant them access to the new database/page I'm going to create?

You're going to have to be more specific if you want to know how it can be done. But it can definately be done. Everything can be done... It's always a question of how. |

k.. here's the specifics..
I run a car oriented performance site www.okgmp.com I'd like to have a page that users can log into with their vBulletin credentials that will allow them to enter and edit the following info FirstName, LastName, Boardname, CarYear, CarModel, HPrating, TQrating, 60foot, ET, MPH, Date. After they enter this info I'd like to have a page that can pull from that database to display the info by a user selected sort. So for instance I'd like to have the entiere database displayed and then you could click each column to sort by that colum. That's it really. I suppose I could go as far as to even let the user enter this info in their profile in some custom profile feilds, and then the page could pull from that data base, that would get around the Login issue since they'd have to have a vbulletin accout to be able to have a profile.. just a thought. |

yeah the easiest way would be to use custom fields.
I would create a new page to diplay.edit.store data from/to a car_info table with the desired fields and a left join on the user table. It's such a specialist idea that no one is probably going to bother making it. Coders tend to code for their use. - I'd have no use but PM me in 2-3 weeks (When I am less busy) and I may do this... I'm feeling charitable! |

Yeah, that was all way way over my head I barley got the forum installed and working. I can fumble through PHP and Mysql.. I have a good understanding of how things work, but I don't have the knoweledge to actually code it to do what I want
