Auto fill in profile field?

Is there a way to make an auto fill for zip codes in a profile field?
We use the zip code for quite a bit of things in our forum and cmps page.
The way it's set up, when someone registers they need to put their zip code in. but when they type in their zip they don't check to see if it's right so when the wrong weather and cmps page shows up they email us and it's a pain in the ***!

We have about 400 zips and it looks real confusing if I put a drop down or radio buttons for the choices.

I don't think thats possible? I can't think how it would be done.
Unless you could find the geographical location, via the ip address.
It might be best to just make it a required field and have your members manually enter the zip code.
When registering on most forums you have to enter your email address and password twice [to make sure you've entered the correct information]
Maybe you could employ this same idea, and have your members enter thier zip code twice to ensure it's correct.

You couldn't use the IP without running a trace to the source computer as it is being routed through a server. The server, depending upon your ISP could be anywhere in the world. People that are behind a proxy would also cause a problem for trying to use an IP to find a users zipcode.

I was thinking of having the zip code there, so when someone typed in 0 all the 0's would show and when they typed 02 all the ..you know until all 5 are picked. We have all the zips in our weather DB.
