Image plus gradient in catagory header

OK I don't know if this is the right place to post this. but I want to make my forum look alittle different and want to have an image in the far left of the catagoriy with the catagory name in the center of the table. I made the gradent file but it shows up on EVERY page I don't want it that way. just to show up on the forum home page.

could someone give me some help on this issue?
