Cost up to $299 Sure, you can have over 20,000 songs with an ipod, but lets be realistic. I doubt anyone will honestly listen to all 20,000+ songs. Also, you can always buy multiple memory sticks and have a certain number of songs on each if you please. So, how does an Ipod really hold up against a PSP? I brought mines for $220 and then brought a gig for $72.99. I already have the psp since i brought it in person, however, i'm waiting for the gig, 2 games (GTA and Marvel Nemesis: Rise of Imperfects), psp case, and a screen protector from newegg.

You can't really compare them as far as "gaming" goes - The iPod is designed to be a Music and Video playing device, the PSP is designed to be a portable playing device...

And the psp can play music just like an ipod. It has the speaker dock and everything, as well as the availability for more memory. Also, IMO videos on the psp look 100x better than on an ipod.

Key word being "IMO" - There are uses for an iPod that do not apply to a PSP...
At the end of the day, if you want a portable gaming console that can hold a small amount of music or has a small storage space, then go with the PSP - If you want a portable Music & Video player, with a large amount of storage space, go with the iPod... Chris

While that is true, that is at additional cost to the original item; That also means that you are still limited to the capacity of the memory card...
A 30gb iPod can be used as a portable hard-drive to transfer files from Computer A to Computer B - Much bigger than any other device aside from a 60gb iPod, or a proper external hard drive... Chris

Memory cards on a psp can be used to transfer fiels as well. As a matter of fact, i have classmated who put their HW on a psp and bring it to class to print.

While that is good for smaller documents, less than 5 or 6gb in size in total, when you, like me, wish to take home a Linux Operating System or 3 that you have downloaded in University, that would require somewhere in the vacinity of 8 - 9gb of space - Add to that other programs or items or bits of work you want to take home or take to University, that 20gb of space spare from your Music and Videos becomes handy...
