password reset
Hi guys,
For some reason I cant get into the admin panel on my forum. I dont remember changing the password, but I havent been in it for a while so I might of. Now, this is my question. How can I manually allow a user to login to admin panel via editing mysql tables? Additionally, how can I manually reset the password for admin via going into phpmyadmin and editing it? It is not just 1 md5 hash, but rather 2 isnt it? (like $newpass=md5(md5("passhere")); ) Finally, where does it store how many login attempts I have? I tried looking in the table realyl quick to see if it stores the ip somewhere so I'd have to wait the 15 minutes but didnt find it, but didnt look too hard. I wanted to reset my wait so I could try a few more passwords lol. Anyways, I'd appreciate any help. thanks |

You could use the Lost Password link to get it reset. No hacking into the database needed.

ya I tried that, but for some reason it let me get pw but when i clicked the admin link at the bottom to get in, it wouldnt let me, but that may of been because of the 15 minute wait.
I'm waiting again. But if I wanted to hack the db in the future, how would it be done? |

What happens if you try to login? You get a message that the password is wrong, or it is accepted, but you're returned to the login page?
