can edit psd skin header??

Why do not you just download the full trial version?

gimp (open source @ sourceforge) can open and work with psd files I believe.

GIMP would work, but it has some limitations as to what it is capable of. If you're strapped for cash, it's definately an option to consider though.

IMHO Gimp is MUCH worse than Photoshop. Especially the fact that it's tools are in totally separate windows.

There is a plugpin to make it take the cosmetics of photoshop.

Oh really? I didn't knew that! Nice to hear, it increases my possiblity of switching to Linux (although the possibility is still small, I prefer to switch once to MacOS and for good ).
