Mulitiple Boards on same server
I am currently running 3.5 on a public address and also wanted to have my test or Beta board running on the same server.
I would only be using the Beta for testing hacks and so forth. So I would assume that I would need to create a new Mysql database also. Can someone give my some direction on this one? Thanks in advance. |

How to create a new database (you could also use a table prefix in your exisitng database), will depend on how your host have set things up. It is usually done from a control panel like cPanel or Plesk.

I actually have the box running here at work.
So I am in charge of it. Could you explain how I would go about doing what you mentioned. I have FULL CONTROL of the machine and everything running on it. It's an XP box running: PHP Version 5.0.5 MySQL 4.1 VB 3.5 |

If it is XP, then downlaod MySQL Administrator from www.mysql.com. Databases are called 'catalogs', and you can create a new one with a few mouseclicks.
PS If you are just starting a new board, i suggest you still use MySQL4 if possible. |
