Integrating vbulletin & Mambo...
Hey,
As we see, Jelsoft is working a new version of vbulletin (3.5), but I just upgraded to 3.0.8 and just got mambo. Now my mambo installation only has 1 user, me, but my vbb installation has alot more and I want them to use the same user base so nobody has to re-register for Mambo so they can submit content. But I'm worried that I'll find a mod, install it then 3.5 becomes official, I upgrade and my link is broken and the broken link reeks havoc on my setup. What do you suggest I do? Must I wait? Oh so are we all dumb founded or whaT? |

I am in the same situation, and I'm just conceeding the fact that I'm using vBulletin as is until the Mambo patch catches up to 3.5

Ok forget all of this intergration mess for right now. vBridge or whatever it's called didn't work for me. I'll try it again another day, but for now what I want basically is to be able to display posts from my ANNOUCEMENTS forum on the front page of my mambo site, in a simple fashion.
I know I could use one of the old time vbulletin mods and just put code to the mambo indexpage but I'd rather use a plugin of some sort. What you guys got for me? |

Hi,
I am running vBulletin 3.0.9, my site is predominately a forum but we have some content and a gallery. The gallery is a Coppermine install bridged with vBulletin and it works seemlessly (technically that is, because I will admit I have a lot of template work to do across the site). The mainsite is a Mambo install which serves content and the frontend of the site. I use a lot of Mambo and find it to be a great CMS. I have been toying with trying to get vBExternal working as that would do basically what I need but I need to get my timeslips database upgraded first (have just come from vB 2.0.9). I have used mod_akolastvb to display my latest posts, and have used vBulletins syndication method. You can easily denote which forum you want it to display. I have just used it for latest posts, but you could use it for headlines. Oh, our car club site is at www.skylinesdownunder.com |

How is your integration working? I'm looking for a vb mambo/joomla hack that doesn't require synching, pretty much how 4images, coppermine, photopost, or even drupal integrates with vb. Without having to merge databases but still share login, and sessions.
If we could perhaps hire a freelancer to do this, I'm willing to help with the cost. |
