Default Some posts are in the wrong order!!!

I've installed tons of different hacks on my board so I'm not sure which one caused this problem but...

Whenever someone posts a new topic and then someone replies fairly quickly (or after someone replies fairly quickly to a regular post), the order of the posts get turned around.

Example: John starts a new thread called "this is a new thread" and then Jill replies, Jill's reply would be the first post in the thread.

This is really annoying, does anyone know why this is happening? Is there one particular file that could be causing this that I can post for someone to examine?

Please let me know if you need more information. This is hurting my board tremendously.

Thank you,

Check your ACP settings. There are settings in the 'vBulletin options' which allow you to put the newest posts first in a thread. Check it is not on this setting.

Tony, thanks for the response. I checked the settings and this isn't the problem. Do you have any other suggestions?

BTW, this happens right in the middle of a thread too. For instance, I have a thread that has over 5,000 replies in it and I ended up deleting it 'cause it looked so bad near the end.

Thank you..

The only reason i can come up with is that NTP is active on the server, and that it is turning back the clock slowly, trying to get in synch with it's NTP server.

I have to agree with Marco's theory. Check the timestamps are in order, even though the posts aren't, maybe that will give you an indication...

Okay, the posts look okay in the database... They're just displayed wrong on the pages in the forums. Any idea of what could be causing that?

BTW, I think this only happens if two people post within like a minute.

As stated the most common way this happens is your servers time begin set incorrectly. When it is changed to the correct time your posts can become out of order.

Could this of been caused by installing hacks though?

I doubt a hack did this, it really does sound to me that the timestamp has been affected. But it is always slightly possible.

What is your server's time set to? GMT?
