Uninstalling Hacks
Hi there all....quick question.
When uninstalling hacks, is there any way to be certain that you reversed all the changes made to the DB? Does vbulletin have any way of looking at the tables and seeing un-used or un-needed tables? I just want to make sure that I am reversing all the changes made as sometimes it is hard to determine. I am especially referring to the installation of flashchat, however, there are others. Thank you all!! |

Compair them, one by one by one is the only way I know (long process)

Thanks for the response....compare them to what though?
If the DB has been changed, there really is no way of knowing what should and should not be there?? Some tables are obvious, however, some tables have been altered by the certain hacks. Anyone else have any input? Thanks again everyone! |

The easiest way to clean your database is to use ImpEx (downloadable from the vb.com member area) to create a fresh install.

Do they have instructions on the site to do a clean db install? Actually now that I think of it...if I do a complete re-install of the database, I will lose my custom header, footer and whatnot right? |
