I have certain categories set up as columns but I want to know how I can add the border thats on the rest of the ones set up in the default way? The last post button and the vbulletin ones are too close and it looks all cluttered.

You haven't coded the tables correctly. If you did, turning the borders on through the style settings would put borders in newly created tables too.
Can you post (attach if long) just that part of code that you used to do those column forums? |

Your border shouldn't be border="1". You need to use a style variable instead of hard-coded numbers. This is what is causing it I think.
