Coolest Web Ideas - Voice Your Opinion

As usual, the better part of my day is spent surfing the web, supporting clients, and so forth. While surfing around today, I got to thinking about the better ideas that had struck the web and the not so great ideas and thought I would bring the next biggest question to the vBT Community!

Question of the Week:

What, in your opinion, has been the coolest web idea that you have seen, viewed, or had the chance to experience?


When I ask this, I do not mean what is the coolest website, rather, the idea of the website, what it caters to, what the point of it is and so forth.

So let me know your opinions as I further search for mine. Just had to get this question out before I lost it .

urrrrrrrr........tough question.

Probaby, the best think I've ever seen on a website was a flash header banner. It was obvious to me that someone had spent days making it as it consisted of many many good pictures made probably in photoshop. Allthough they are getting common now, flash banners still make websites that little bit better to be on.

i dunno, a flash banner had to be reloaded and restarted on every page, then theres the fact that flash isnt compatible out of the box for all ppl :\

back in the day i thought UBB was the coolest thing. it is a tough question, id haev to say the the RCS by gamasoftware, is **** cool, its a online rpg, that the admin makes, lol i guess it looks like aplug but its great and i like it

Ive seen some cool avatar programs in my day, that allow the user to create a avatar with images on the server. Most of the ones ive seen allow you to pick body type (female,male, with differnt skin tones), hair, cloths and basicly anything you can think off.

I think the best thing I have ever seen in my travles are sites that are built nearly 100% by the supporting community. Users can submit anything from reviews to news. its really a great system if you have some form of moderation.

yeah...i know the flash banners you mean, but i mean little animated ones. Such as a rotating sign...or little straks flashing ever now and then...just some kind of primary animation, that makes the website look professional and entertaining.

heh, I don't think I really explained things too well . What I meant was more along the lines of what Brad was talking about first in his post, how the avatar creation really hit it big (and it did for some time).
