A few questions..

I am currently planing alot of things for vB 3, including a new site synergy-core.net.


The site will focus around two things, the frist will be a area to allow hackers and style makers to post there resumes for clients seeking work to read. Of course a seller will not be able to do this before they are in a custom usergroup, to apply to this usergroup they must fill out a form listing their refrences.

Once they are in this usergroup the clients will be able to make comments about the hacker/style makers work, and how the transaction went.

Think of it like ebay for vB, except to be able to 'sell' yourself for work you will be screened by the synergy-core staff before you may 'sell'.


The second thing the site will focus on is making hacks for vBulletin in-house, some will be paid releases (to support the sites funding among other things), some will be freely released at vBulletin.org.

What else would you like to see out of a site such as this?, Would you be intrested in helping out with it?.

Moreover...I would like to ask what you think about some of the hacks im plaing for vB 3.

The frist is dubbed Syn.portal, this will be the frist 'pay for' add-on that will be released and supported at the site. This hack is something I scraped for vB 2. I plan on including a advanced artical system and news system into this. It wont quit be a portal or CMS, some in between intergrated into vBulletin. And I dont plan on selling it for more then the vContent system jelsoft is planing .

The second will be released freely, it is dubbed Syn.gallery lite. It will be a photopost like hack with a few advanced options about the way files will be stored. Im writting it because ive been looking for a good gallery for ages, and even photopost is not good enof for me (im picky ).

The third is Syn.journal pro, also begin released for free. Just anthor one I scraped for vB 2. Basicly a journal system intergrated into vBulletin. With tons of admin fetures and some other goodies .

Q: What would you like to see in the hacks planned above?, what is lacking in simalar already released hacks?

Sounds like a good idea to bring the site to life. I'd be glad to help out if you needed someone.

Hack #1 - Sounds good, I remember you telling me about this for vB2. Should be just as good for vB3.

Hack #2 - Galleries are nice, but I'd imagine a few other hackers would release 'rival' ones.

Hack #3 - Sounds good, look forward to seeing what you'll put in it.

Thanks for the comments, im not worryed about the rivals, just gives me a excuse to improve the hacks even more. Syn.gallery pro is defentally on the back-burner to, I cant wait to see what I come up for with that one, going to be good a asure you because im planing on it to be a paid-release aswell.

Alot of the stuff used to power all this may come out to, all of it is going to be coded from the ground up, Im even plan on the site itself not to use a single table anywhere in its XHTML. It'll be the frist time I attempt it so ive been reading up on a lot of CSS as of late

O yea, if anyone is intrested in joining up as part of the team at s:c fell free to send me a pm. I am intrested in doing some of these in a group effort, the more the merryer .

I will also be looking for experanced moderator aswell, but thats all down the road for a month and a half if not more. But if you would like to help out with the upstart feel free to PM me or request my aim handle.

Im really excitied about doing all this, been awhile scence ive had such a desire to create a site based on something other then anime . Dont get me wrong, anime is still a fav of mine. But I find my self so into web development now-a-days I think its time that I start trying to give back to the community

It's good to go somewhere different, I know you've had the experiances with anime communities but it's time you try something different. I'm sure it'd go well. And if you need anyone to help you in any area you know where to find me. I express my interest in this project. Hehe.
