Calendar - Today BG Image

HI all

I am trying to add a background image to TODAY on my calander. The image is 100X100 and obviously it won't fit the width of the column but it will the height. Here is the code so far:

<td background="skin/images/today.gif" valign="top" height="100" width="14%"

How can I get this image to fit the complete width of the column? I was able to add a image to the input box on my shoutbox by using the style tag in the text line but this is differant.

I asked at vbulletin.com already but got no answers.
